We mourn the loss of Prof. Dr. Subhash Ranade (1940-2025.03.22) from Poona in India.
He was one of my doctoral supervisors, teacher, colleague and friend. Together we published one of the first German-language Ayurveda books in 1995.
Together with his wife Dr. Sunanda, he was an outstanding, internationally recognised expert on Ayurveda. With his competent and open-hearted, humorous manner, he taught worldwide and brought the treasures of this time-honoured science to the world. My wife Christina and I have travelled extensively with Subhash and Sunanda. He often stayed with us as part of his teaching commitments in Europe.
Subhash, we mourn the fact that you had to leave us. You have a place in our hearts, once and now. You remain with us with many experiences and images. Just as your soul lives on, the memories of you remain alive in us.
